FERCxbrl is based on the same well-tested XBRL engine used successfully in our EDGARsuite SEC filing product since 2008. However, FERCxbrl has been developed specifically for FERC filings, capitalizing on the unique attributes of the FERC taxonomy to maximize simplicity and ease of use for the end user.

FERCxbrl

vs. Generic XBRL filing tools

The FERC taxonomy mimics almost line-by-line the traditional FERC forms. It does not allow custom extensions, permitting only typed members for company-specific categorization. As a result, all XBRL tagging can be pre-built and embedded in a suitably designed software tool, leaving you free to focus on just the data that goes into the forms. That is exactly how FERCxbrl works. So whereas generic XBRL products require you to tag tables, line items and data, create dimension members, and attend to assorted other XBRL details, FERCxbrl presents you familiar FERC forms that have already been tagged for XBRL. All you do is enter or import data into these forms. You don’t have to know much about XBRL, and you don’t have to tag or even create dimension members. FERCxbrl automatically does all that for you!

FERCxbrl

- Key Features

Applicabilty and Ease of use

Handles all FERC filings that require XBRL (Forms 1, 1-F, 2, 2-A, 3-Q, 6, 6-Q, 60, 714, and their variants). Presents familiar FERC forms with fillable fields into which you enter data. Easy navigation - quickly jump to any location in the form using a collapsible tree as table of contents. No XBRL expertise required - forms are pretagged, and the software creates all required XBRL elements (such as typed members) automatically.

Easily include large amounts of data

Copy/paste large blocks of text from Word documents, EDGAR filings or other sources into your filing, preserving formatting such as boldface, indents, tables, layout, etc. Copy/paste tabular data (entire rows, columns, range of cells or complete tables) from Excel sheets, Word tables or other sources into schedules. Connectivity to other documents such as Microsoft Word, Excel, company data bases etc., to acquire data via protocols and APIs. Ability to import data in bulk from other XBRL instance documents such as prior filings.

Full support for variable-length schedules and detail line items

Required additional rows are created automatically when copying and pasting information.
